Artist rendering of the 1620 square foot Falkland modular home Kelowna

Every year, the 100,000 residents of the Kelowna area bask in more than 2,000 hours of sunshine, enjoying one of the sunniest cities in Canada.

As the largest city in B.C.'s Okanagan Valley, Kelowna is the shopping, cultural and educational center for the region. Much of the marketing and distribution activity for the Okanagan is based in Kelowna. Ideally located, this city is 90 miles - or 150 km - north of the U.S. border and 247 miles - or 395 km - east of Vancouver and the B.C. coast.

Kelowna is also a vacation and retirement destination. The city curves around the shore of Okanagan Lake, offering miles of beautiful sandy beaches, boating, swimming and fishing. Three major ski hills are within a one-hour drive. In summer, the nearby mountains are popular locations for hikers and campers.

Kelowna offers championship level golf courses; world-renowned wineries; and acres of orchards that make this regional the fruit basket of the province.

As a recreational center with an ideal climate, Kelowna is also becoming a business center. Costs are competitive, the border is nearby and the community's University of B.C.- Okanagan and Okanagan College ensure a well-qualified work force. Industries now active in Kelowna include agriculture; manufacturing of boats, plastics, fiberglass, call centers, modular homes, and equipment for the oil industry; and high tech aerospace development and service.

Amenities include:

  • Canada's 11th busiest airport, with 35 scheduled daily flights
  • Pospera Place, a 6,000 seat multi-purpose facility that hosts sports and entertainment events
  • A new Rotary Centre of the Arts
  • A Waterfront Park with an outdoor amphitheater and wooden boardwalk linking beaches with downtown
